But there was one novel specifically—Rebecca, the 1938 gothic romantic thriller from Daphne du Maurier—that I devoured from cowl to cowl, and it stays my favourite to at the present time. The story a couple of younger newlywed who lives within the shadow of her husband’s first spouse, Rebecca, on a sprawling household property on the English coast was nothing quick of mesmerizing.
